Golden Circle Ice & Fire
9 Nights / 10 Days
From £2,785 per person*
Reykjavík (1) → Hella (3) → Húsafell (3) → Reykjavík (1)
Eight days of Iceland’s hottest springs and coolest sights, blending Iceland’s most spectacular natural wonders with its finest geothermal bathing experiences. From steamy lagoons and wild mountain springs to glacier adventures and fjordside pools, you’ll soak, stroll, and self-drive your way through a land shaped by fire and ice.
Reykjavík
Iceland’s capital is a city of colour and creativity, where corrugated houses, street art, and harbour views mix with a lively food and music scene. Bathing is part of the rhythm here: locals gather in outdoor pools and geothermal hot tubs to soak, swim, and socialise. Museums and galleries explore both Viking heritage and cutting-edge art, while day trips lead easily to thermal lagoons, waterfalls, and lava fields. Reykjavík is vibrant yet intimate, a gateway where urban energy and natural wonders overlap.
Hella
A small riverside town in South Iceland, Hella makes a quiet base for exploring waterfalls, black-sand beaches, and the Golden Circle. Nearby geothermal pools and hot tubs offer warm refuge from the winds, with the town’s swimming pool doubling as a local social hub. Horse farms and countryside guesthouses reveal Iceland’s rural rhythms, while clear winter nights bring dazzling views of the northern lights. Hella is understated yet atmospheric — a place where daily life and natural wonders flow together.
Hvammsvík
On a quiet fjord just outside Reykjavík, Hvammsvík Hot Springs blends modern design with raw Icelandic nature. Eight outdoor pools of varying temperatures are set along the tidal shoreline, where bathers can soak as seabirds wheel overhead and the Atlantic tide flows in and out. Sea and geothermal waters mingle, offering a unique connection to both elements. Between dips, guests can relax on rocky outcrops or in a sleek bathhouse with panoramic views. Hvammsvík feels intimate yet wild, a place where wellness and wilderness merge seamlessly
Húsafell
Nestled between glaciers and lava fields, Húsafell is an oasis of woodland, hot springs, and geothermal bathing. Its modern thermal spa overlooks wild landscapes, pairing warm pools with views of Langjökull glacier. Nearby, ice tunnels and lava caves invite deeper exploration, while hiking trails weave through birch groves and waterfalls. Húsafell feels elemental yet comfortable, a retreat where Iceland’s volcanic forces meet thoughtful design and tradition.
Hólmavík
On the edge of the remote Westfjords, Hólmavík is a small fishing town with a big personality. Its Museum of Sorcery and Witchcraft reveals tales of magic, folklore, and Iceland’s stranger histories. Nearby geothermal pools and hot tubs carry on the bathing tradition, offering warmth against the dramatic, windswept coast. The town is also a base for seal watching and exploring the stark beauty of Strandir, one of Iceland’s most isolated regions. Hólmavík is quirky, cultural, and quietly restorative — a place where stories and landscapes are equally unforgettable.
Mývatn
Named for the “midge lake” that supports rich birdlife, Mývatn is a landscape of volcanic craters, lava fields, and steaming geothermal vents. The Mývatn Nature Baths provide blue mineral pools overlooking this surreal terrain, offering a quieter alternative to Iceland’s more famous lagoons. Hiking trails lead across pseudo-craters and geothermal mud fields, blending bathing with exploration. Mývatn feels otherworldly, a place where earth, water, and sky are constantly reshaped by volcanic forces.
Day 1. Arrival in Reykjavík
Arrive at Keflavík Airport and meet your private driver for a smooth transfer to Reykjavík. Check in to your hotel, freshen up, then head out to the Blue Lagoon for your first taste of Icelandic geothermal magic — soak in warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by lava fields, with a silica mask and drink in hand. In the evening, join a guided Reykjavík Food Walk, sampling local favourites like lamb stew, rye bread ice cream, and perhaps even fermented shark.
Day 2. Golden Circle Wonders & Soaking at the Secret Lagoon
A full-day exploration of the Golden Circle. Start at Þingvellir National Park, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates drift apart, then visit the steaming Geysir geothermal field and thunderous Gullfoss waterfall. Visit the celebrated Friðheimar Tomato Farm, where you’ll have lunch in a greenhouse surrounded by vines, enjoying a fresh tomato-themed menu. End the day with a soak at the Secret Lagoon, Iceland’s oldest natural pool, quietly steaming in the countryside, before being dropped off at your hotel in Hella
Day 3. Icelandic Horses & Hvammsvík Hot Springs
After breakfast, set off on a gentle horseback ride through lava fields and open countryside, riding the famously sure-footed Icelandic horses.
After lunch, transfer out to Hvammsvík Hot Springs, a fjordside sanctuary where eight natural pools blend seamlessly with the wild Atlantic landscape. Soak at sunset for full effect.
Day 4. Hidden Pool & Lunch
Collect your rental car and drive to Hrunalaug, a tiny, stone-walled hot spring tucked into a grassy hollow, intimate, undeveloped, and beautifully rustic. Afterwards, stop at Efstidalur, a working farm and café known for homemade ice cream, fresh dairy, and views over the valley
Day 5. Scenic West Drive to Húsafell & Krauma Baths
Check out and set off on a self-drive journey through southern Iceland into the highlands of the west. Along the way, stop at Hraunfossar and Barnafoss, where icy water streams out from under lava fields. Continue to the geothermal area of Deildartunguhver and unwind at Krauma Baths, where hot spring and glacial waters are mixed to perfection. Arrive in Húsafell, where your stylish lodge offers crisp mountain air, modern comforts, and natural surroundings.
Day 6. Inside the Glacier & Secret Canyon Soak
This morning, join a small-group tour and explore the blue-hued tunnels carved into Langjökull — Europe’s second-largest glacier. It’s otherworldly, educational, and a highlight.
Later, enjoy a scenic hike into the highlands to reach the secluded Húsafell Canyon Baths — two rustic stone pools nestled in a ravine, overlooking waterfalls and quiet forest. With limited access per time slot, it’s a peaceful and private experience.
Day 7. Explore Locally or Venture to Snæfellsnes
At leisure to explore teh wilderness. Stay local in Húsafell and explore lava caves, hike the trails, or enjoy a second visit to Krauma or the Canyon Baths. This is a slower, restorative day perfect for soaking up the wild beauty of Iceland.
Alternatively, drive north for a full-day self-guided adventure around the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known as “Iceland in Miniature.” Visit volcanic beaches, fishing villages, and the glacier-capped Snæfellsjökull — said to be a source of spiritual energy.Day 8. Return to Reykjavík & Sky Lagoon Finale
Return to Reykjavík at your own pace, stopping for photos or coffee along the way. Once in the capital, check back into your hotel and head to the Sky Lagoon for a final soak. With its oceanside infinity edge and 7-step ritual — cold plunge, sauna, mist room, and more — this is a sublime farewell to Iceland’s geothermal magic.
Spend your final evening enjoying Reykjavík’s restaurants, galleries, or simply strolling along the harbour.
Day 9. Depart
This morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast and a final walk through the city before your private transfer to Keflavík Airport. No rush, no stress — just a smooth and peaceful ending to your Icelandic escape.
