Niseko (4) - Hakuba (4) - Tokyo (3)
From neon cityscapes to tranquil mountain baths — this immersive Kansai itinerary blends Japan’s urban delights with timeless onsen culture. Ideal for those seeking a restorative rhythm, steeped in local bathing traditions
Niseko
Renowned for its world-class powder snow, Niseko is a winter paradise with a relaxed international vibe. Set against the backdrop of majestic Mount Yōtei, this Hokkaido resort town offers exceptional skiing and snowboarding across four interconnected mountains. But Niseko is more than just the slopes—after a day carving through feather-light snow, unwind in a traditional onsen with views of snowy forests, or savour locally inspired cuisine from gourmet izakayas to Michelin-starred fare. Whether you're here for the fresh tracks or the après-ski serenity, Niseko blends natural beauty with indulgent relaxation.
Hakuba
Nestled in the Japanese Alps, Hakuba is a scenic mountain village that comes alive in winter as one of Japan’s premier ski destinations. With a legacy from the 1998 Winter Olympics, its varied terrain suits all skill levels—from gentle tree runs to thrilling backcountry routes. Off the slopes, Hakuba offers cosy cafés, steaming outdoor hot springs, and glimpses into traditional alpine life. Take a stroll through the charming Echoland district, soak in a local onsen while snowflakes fall around you, and experience the magic of mountain Japan—where every snowfall feels like a fresh beginning.
Tokyo
Japan’s dynamic capital is a kaleidoscope of contrasts: ancient shrines and futuristic skylines, serene gardens and high-energy neighbourhoods. Begin your journey in this dazzling metropolis where tradition and innovation coexist at every turn. Wander through the peaceful grounds of Meiji Shrine, explore the artisan shops of Asakusa, and take in sweeping city views from the top of Shibuya Sky or Tokyo Tower. Whether you're sipping matcha in a quiet tea house or soaking in an urban onsen with skyline views, Tokyo is the perfect introduction to modern Japan—with pockets of calm always close by.
Day 1 - Sapporo → Niseko
Arrive in Japan and fly straight to Hokkaido, where snowy peaks and powder-filled days await. Transfer to Niseko and check in to your alpine base. Take it easy with an onsen soak and hearty local fare—think miso ramen, Hokkaido dairy, and fresh seafood.
Day 2 – Niseko
Hit the slopes of Niseko United, starting with Grand Hirafu’s long, cruisy runs. Whether you're carving groomers or chasing off-piste, this is Japan’s most famous powder playground. Après with a soak and a glass of local sake.
Day 3 – Niseko
Explore another Niseko area—perhaps Niseko Village or Annupuri—for tree runs, wide bowls, and hidden powder stashes. In the evening, treat yourself to a farm-to-table dinner or head into town for craft beer and izakaya bites.
Day 4 – Niseko
Save your legs or push them further—this is your final ski day in Hokkaido. Opt for a guided backcountry tour or slow it down with snowshoeing and a long outdoor onsen. Get ready for tomorrow’s shift to Honshu.
Day 5 – Niseko → Hakuba
Travel day. Fly from Hokkaido to Honshu and transfer to Hakuba in the Japanese Alps. Check into your mountain lodge or ryokan and let the fresh mountain air set a new rhythm. Soak in the onsen and enjoy a quiet night in.
Day 6 – Hakuba
Wake up in the heart of Nagano and ski Hakuba Goryu or Hakuba 47—home to wide trails, terrain parks, and spectacular views of the Northern Alps. Refuel with steaming soba and unwind in the hotel’s hot spring baths.
Day 7 – Hakuba
Explore Hakuba Happo-One, the region’s largest and most legendary resort. Ride the gondola to high-altitude bowls or cruise scenic ridge runs. Cap the day with a local onsen and a traditional kaiseki dinner in a snowy village setting.
Day 8 – Hakuba
our final day on the slopes. Try Iwatake for quieter trails and panoramic views, or revisit your favourite runs. Wind down with a walk through snowy forests or a soak under the stars. Tomorrow, it’s off to the capital.
Day 9 – Hakuba → Toyko
Travel to Tokyo and check in to a central hotel—think sleek design, city views, and maybe even a rooftop sentō. Spend your first evening strolling the neon buzz of Shibuya or relaxing with a bowl of late-night ramen.
Day 10 – Tokyo
Explore Tokyo’s contrasts—meander through Meiji Shrine’s peaceful woods, then dive into Harajuku’s creative chaos. Discover artisan goods in Daikanyama or sip matcha in Yanaka’s nostalgic backstreets before retiring to a super sento or back to the traditional baths at your hotel.
Day 11 – Tokyo
Visit the Tokyo you’ve been dreaming of—whether that’s the temples of Asakusa, the skyline from Roppongi Hills, or gallery-hopping in Ginza. End your trip with a final soak or toast in a high-rise bar above the city lights.
Day 12 – Tokyo
Depart from Tokyo, refreshed, exhilarated, and with a suitcase full of powder-dusted memories
