    Mammoth Mountain

High in California’s Sierra Nevada, Mammoth is a playground of peaks, powder, and alpine lakes. In winter, skiers carve long descents on Mammoth Mountain’s volcanic slopes, while summer brings hiking and mountain biking trails that reveal crystal-clear basins and meadows. After the day’s exertion, nearby natural hot springs offer open-air pools where steam rises against snow-capped horizons — the perfect contrast of heat and frost. The town itself has a relaxed mountain vibe, with craft breweries and hearty dining to round out the rhythm of ski and soak.

    Sierra Hot Springs

Tucked in pine forest north of Lake Tahoe, Sierra Hot Springs is a sanctuary where geothermal waters bubble up in pools both rustic and serene. Wooden bathhouses, outdoor pools, and even a meditation dome create a retreat atmosphere that feels deeply restorative. It’s a place where skiers from nearby resorts come to ease muscles, or where travellers simply pause between mountain journeys. Surrounded by quiet forest and star-filled skies, Sierra Hot Springs feels timeless — elemental water meeting alpine wilderness.

    Lake Tahoe

    Lake Tahoe

Straddling the California–Nevada border, Lake Tahoe dazzles in all seasons: shimmering turquoise waters, snowy peaks, and an endless horizon of pines. Winter brings some of America’s best skiing across multiple resorts, while summer reveals sandy coves and hiking trails along the Tahoe Rim. After the slopes or trails, hot tubs, spas, and alpine lodges invite you to soak with lake views as your backdrop. Tahoe blends grandeur with relaxation — a place where adventure and stillness are always side by side.

    Heavenly

Perched above the southern shore of Lake Tahoe, Heavenly lives up to its name with sweeping views that stretch from snow-draped peaks to the blue expanse below. Ski runs weave between California and Nevada, offering both challenging descents and wide cruising pistes. Off the slopes, après-ski finds its rhythm in lakefront bars, casinos, and spa hotels, where whirlpools and saunas ease tired legs. Heavenly is both dramatic and playful — a ski resort with scenery that steals the show.

    Big Bear Mountain

Just two hours from Los Angeles, Big Bear offers alpine escape close to the city. Its twin resorts — Snow Summit and Bear Mountain — deliver sunlit slopes in winter, while summer brings lake activities and forest hikes. The town has a cozy, rustic charm, with log cabins, diners, and craft breweries. Natural hot springs in the surrounding San Bernardino mountains make for soothing detours, where mineral-rich pools restore after skiing or kayaking. Big Bear blends Southern California ease with mountain freshness, perfect for a short yet immersive retreat.
